GET START FROM THE BEGINNING....!!!

MAC OS X 10.9 Mavericks USB Bootable

In OS X Mavericks Apple have changed the package you get from the App Store.  It is no longer possible to simply restore the InstallESD.dmg to get a bootable image for USB / Flash drive installation.  However, you can still do it, it just takes a few more steps.  Here’s how…

1. You are going to need to see some hidden files for this.  So start by opening Terminal.app and pasting in the following (don’t worry, we’ll undo this change when we are done)…
   defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
killall Finder
2. Download the installer as normal from the app store. (At time of writing this is only possible for those with access to the developer previews).
3. After download you will have the ‘Install OS X 10.9′ app in your /Applications folder. Right-click it and select ‘Show Package Contents’.
4. Navigate to the Contents/SharedSupport.  There you will see the InstallESD.dmg file.  Unfortunately, you can’t just grab it and restore it.  Instead double-click it to mount it.
5. You should now see the normally hidden BaseSystem.dmg file in the mounted volume.
   Tips: If you skip step 1 and still can't see the file BaseSystem.dmg, just launch Terminal and type this command:
   $ open /Volumes/OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/BaseSystem.dmg
6. Open Disk Utility and restore the source BaseSystem.dmg to the destination of your USB drive.
   
7. Now open up the restored USB volume (default name is OS X Base System) and navigate to System/Installation. In there you will see an alias for Packages. Delete this alias.
8. Copy the full Packages folder from the root of the mounted InstallESD volume (the same place you got the BaseSystem.dmg file) to the USB volumes System/Installation folder. Basically, replace the Packages alias you just deleted with the real Packages folder from the original InstallESD volume.
   
9. The USB drive should now be bootable. So simply restart, hold down the Option key (Alt) when booting with the USB drive in your machine, and you should get the option to boot from the USB drive.
10. Remember, to rehide the normall hidden files just repeat step 1 but change YES to NO.

Mengubuah susunan email pada Thunderbird

Payah... katrok....
Thunderbird gak punya option untuk sorting alamat email, terpaksa deh oprek:

- Edit File: ~/.thunderbird/<your profile>/prefs.js

atau:

- PC: Tools > Options / Mac: Thunderbird > Preferences...
- Tab: Advanced > Tab: General > Config editor : "I'll be careful, I promise!"
- Cari kata "account"
- Edit variable "mail.accountmanager.accounts" dan ubah susunannya
- Restart Thunderbird.

Contoh:

user_pref("mail.accountmanager.accounts", "account5,account3,account2");
user_pref("mail.accountmanager.defaultaccount", "account5");

Recover From A Bad Flash DD-WRT

Bingung linksys WRT54GL rusak, cuma bisa di ping doang, diakses via web gak bisa, ssh gak tembus, telnet gak tembus juga....

Gara-garanya, sebab ilang password, terus di flash pake tomato.trx dengan cara:

Route add default gw 192.168.1.xxx eth0
cd /tmp/
wget http://192.168.1.xxx/tomato.trx
mtd -r write /tmp/tomato.trx linux

sampai langkah ini berhasil kan tuh...
nah abis tu... mau langsung timpa / upgrade ke dd-wrt, tapi malang bener nasibnya, tampaknya semua ok, tapi setelah reboot.... booom... ping lancar, web tidak ada tanda2 kehidupan, ssh gak konek, telnet juga hopeless....

Baru deh pake caranya pakde DD-WRT official:

1. Disconnect the router from UTP cables (not the power cable).
2. Push reset button for 30 secs.
3. Without releasing reset button, disconnect power cord.
4. Hold the reset button for another 30 secs.
5. Replug the power cord.
6. Still hold the reset button for another 30 secs.
7. Release the reset button and give the router about 10 secs to resettle.
8. Disconnect power cord for another 10 secs and then reconnect.
9. All should be in default settings now.

This procedure is usually called 30/30/30 reset.

Cara Install MongoDB di Ubuntu 12.4

1. Edit file source.list.

# nano /etc/apt/sources.list

...
deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu precise-security multiverse
deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu precise-security multiverse

deb http://downloads-distro.mongodb.org/repo/ubuntu-upstart dist 10gen

2. Tambahkan GPG key.

# apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 7F0CEB10

3. Update paket.

# apt-get update

4. Install Paket MongoDB.

# apt-get install mongodb-10gen

5. Pastikan mongodb berjalan dengan mulus

# mongo

6. Tampilan perdana.
